Having sexual desires starts to happen as you go through puberty. The sex hormones, like testosterone and estrogen, produce a desire for sex in the brain just as they change you body in preparation for that. This can happen at different times for everyone, but usually somewhere between 12-16 years of age you will begin having sexual thoughts and desires.

Just because you have sexual desires doesn’t mean that you have to act on them. You should think about what you want now and in the long-term and make your decision using your brain and all the right information.
